Rahul Bhatia, currently a sophomore at Triangle Math and Science Academy. He lives in Cary with his younger sister, parents, grandparents and his dog Simba.

He is the current President of DOC NC, an organization which has raised thousands of dollars over the last few years for children’s based charities in the US and in India.

Building on his passion for volunteering and giving back to the community, he recently launched a program at his school called TMSAtalks for industry and community leaders to speak to high school students about career planning and philanthropy related topics. Even though he was born and brought up in the US, he has strong Indian roots. He speaks Hindi fluently, enjoys Bollywood music and movies, and loves Indian food, especially mithai. In his free time, he is an avid reader, a self-proclaimed tech nerd, and loves to play the guitar.

On Friday November 17, the 10th grade students will take the Pre-ACT Test from 8-10:30.

On Friday, November 17, the 10th-grade students will take the PreACT Test from 8:00 - 10:30 AM. The PreACT provides a unique practice experience for taking the ACT test. All students in their 11th-grade year of high school participate in the Statewide ACT. PreACT results give students, parents, and educators valuable insights into students’ predicted performance on the ACT as they plan for a future that aligns with their interests. The PreACT also includes the ACT Interest Inventory to help students begin thinking about careers and college majors.

The PreACT helps identify:

  • Student progress in mastering skills and knowledge required to succeed beyond high school and in college.
  • Areas where extra help or additional courses are needed.
  • Career possibilities that match the student’s interests.

The PreACT includes multiplechoice questions in English, reading, math and science. PreACT test results show students their areas of strength and where more high school course work is needed. Students will receive a copy of their test booklet when the results are returned so they may review the questions and compare their submitted responses to the correct answers. To learn more about this assessment, visit the ACT website at http://www.act.org/preact, or you can contact Mrs. Dawes, the testing coordinator, at This email address is being protected from spambots.
